Barry Plant, a prominent figure in Victoria’s property industry, along with his wife Karen, has successfully sold their expansive Gold Coast mansion for $9 million. This sale comes after a reduction of $3 million from the initial asking price, following over a year on the market.
The couple, renowned for establishing one of Australia’s largest real estate networks with 70 offices across Victoria and South Australia, constructed the remarkable American-style residence on the Sovereign Islands after acquiring the land for $1.5 million in 2014.
Originally listed in November 2022 with hopes of fetching around $12 million, the property eventually found a buyer after being re-listed with a different agent and adjusted expectations.
Facilitating the transaction was Ali Mian, an agent from Ray White Sovereign Islands, marking the highest residential sale of the week across southeast Queensland as reported by realestate.com.au.
