Raine & Horne, one of Australia’s leading real estate firms, is set to open its first office in New Zealand, with real estate identity Ross Harvey as the head of the new operation in Taupō.

Few if any in our industry in the Taupo region would have the pioneering history of the Harvey family. Raine & Horne Taupo Principal and CEO Ross Harvey is immensely proud of the achievements of his late Grandfather, William Harvey and his Great Uncle J.T Harvey who pioneered the Napier Taupo Road in the late 1800’s and drove the coaches between Napier and The Terraces Hotel (now the Hilton), Taupo.

A two to three day journey over rough and treacherous terrain. Ross’s Grandfather, William, while maintaining his shareholding in what was the Hawkes Bay Coach and Motor Company formed the Real Estate Company Harvey Fulton & Hill. That business sold property throughout the Hawkes Bay and Taupo regions.

Ross Harvey joined the family company upon leaving school later moving its operations to Auckland and re-branding as the Harvey Realty Group. Ross grew that business into a nation-wide 50 strong office network including in 1998 the establishment of the very successful Harveys Taupo operation. Selling his interests in the early 2000’s, Ross went on to represent an International brand. During that time winning numerous awards for top producer in New Zealand and taking out the prestigious International No.1 award for sales in 2010.

Ross Harvey prefers to apply a boutique approach to Real Estate, where there is a far closer relationship with the client (vendor) and a more concentrated approach to achieving for that client the very best the market will pay.

The expansion into New Zealand marks a significant milestone for the company, which has been operating in Australia for more than 138 years.

He said the move was an exciting opportunity to bring Raine & Horne’s expertise and experience to the New Zealand market.

The company’s CEO, Angus Raine, said the move into New Zealand was part of a wider expansion strategy for the company.

“We have been looking at opportunities to expand our operations outside of Australia for some time and believe that New Zealand represents a strong growth opportunity for us,” he said.

Raine said the decision to appoint Harvey to lead the new office was based on his extensive experience in the industry and his strong track record of delivering results.

“Ross is an outstanding leader and we are confident that his expertise and experience will be invaluable in helping us establish a successful presence in New Zealand,” he said.

The new office will offer a range of real estate services, including residential and commercial property sales, property management, and leasing.

Raine said the company was committed to building a strong and successful operation in New Zealand and was actively looking for new opportunities to expand its operations in the country.

“We are excited to be launching our first office in New Zealand and are confident that we can build a successful business that delivers exceptional results for our clients,” he said.
