Following Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s new guidelines for auctions and open houses, the real estate industry has developed a workaround, with technology aiding agents, a platform states.
Mr Morrison addressed the media last night where he confirmed a series of new restrictions are set to be applied as part of the government’s efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 on Australian shores.
“In the retail space, auction houses, gathering together in auctions rooms, that can no longer continue,” the PM said.
“Real estate auctions and open house inspections, that cannot continue.”
These bans are set to come into effect from midnight on Wednesday, 25 March.
To help aid agents through a difficult period, realestate.com.au today announced the launch of a new digital feature to support real estate agents to connect with more consumers in a way that reflects today’s environment with limited social interactions.
