Private viewings of properties for sale or rent will be allowed to take place from next week, it has been confirmed.
The real estate sector had been waiting for further guidance after the Government flagged earlier that real estate offices could open in Covid-19 alert level three, but salespeople would have to keep to distancing requirements and should work from home if they could.
REINZ welcomes news that private viewings are allowed under Level 3
While more details are still coming, it has now been confirmed that private viewings by appointment will be allowed. No open homes will be permitted.
Bindi Norwell, chief executive of the Real Estate Institute, said more information would be given to members as her organisation received it.
She said being able to buy, sell and move homes was fundamental to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders and the economy.
“We’re delighted to receive the news that private viewings can take place under alert level three, and we look forward to receiving the further details we need over the coming days in order to make this happen. We are also pleased that the Government has listened to industry feedback.
