Rebel Wilson, renowned for her role in Pitch Perfect, has withdrawn her $2.3 million Sydney penthouse from its scheduled weekend auction, following a prior rescheduling from June to July.
Wilson, 44, originally purchased the Balmain investment property off-plan for $1.88 million in 2015. The luxurious penthouse, located in the heritage-listed Lever Brothers soap factory in Sydney, was first slated for auction on June 22 but was later rescheduled to July. As of now, the auction has been canceled entirely.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Wilson’s decision to pull the property from auction may have been influenced by her real estate agent’s advice. The exact future plans for the property remain unclear.
The sale was being managed by Wilson’s younger sister, Annachi “Anna” Wilson, 32, who recently transitioned from being a buyer’s agent to a sales agent at Cobden & Hayson real estate. Anna has been instrumental in handling the sale alongside Cobden & Hayson chief Matthew Hayson.
The actor, who enlisted younger sister Annachi ‘Anna’ Wilson, 32, (right) to sell the house, has cancelled the auction altogether, reported The Daily Telegraph on Sunday
In his recent video market update, Matthew Hayson revealed a current auction success rate below 50% in Rebel’s area, potentially prompting the decision to withdraw the property from auction. Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Anna for further comments.
Anna has a track record of significant real estate deals, having previously secured more than $30 million worth of properties for clients. She was also involved in the successful transformation and sale of Rebel’s previous Birchgrove property, which fetched $9.5 million in 2022.
