Hollywood star and newly-minted author Rebel Wilson is putting her investment apartment in Sydney up for sale, marking another step in her ongoing disassociation from Australian real estate. In 2022, Wilson, now 44, sold a $9.5 million residence in Birchgrove on the Balmain peninsula, while retaining this particular property.

The stylish apartment in Balmain, located atop a converted soap factory, is set to go to auction on June 22. It spans two levels of the former factory and features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and stunning cityscape views with modern finishes.

Wilson, known for her roles in “Pitch Perfect,” “Bridesmaids,” and “The Hustle,” purchased the dual-level property off-the-plan in the Lever Brothers Factory, which ceased operations in 1988 and was transformed into luxury residences over three years. The apartment occupies the top two floors, and the rooftop terrace, connected to the open-plan kitchen and dining area, offers a panoramic view of the Anzac Bridge and Sydney CBD.

Rebel Wilson has significant real estate ties to Balmain. Developer Punch Park is behind the project, named 100 Balmain. The listing by CobdenHayson Balmain highlights the apartment’s level lift access to double garaging with a Tesla charger. It’s just a short walk from Darling Street’s village hub and White Bay Brewing, with convenient access to the city.

Wilson ended 2023 by completing her directorial debut, the musical comedy “The Deb.” Her previous Victorian-era villa in Birchgrove, designed by architect Paul O’Connor, spanned three levels and featured marble and travertine finishes, a mosaic-tiled infinity pool on the waterfront terrace, Harbour Bridge views, and a private boat mooring.
