RENOVATION activity is expected to hit a record $8.8b nationally, with Queensland to see a 7 per cent surge because of its strong value for money, according to latest forecasts.

Forecasts given to The Courier-Mail by Master Builders Australia has Queensland hitting $1.468b worth of alternations and additions activity in the 2018-2019 year, before rising 6 per cent to $1.556b the following year and then peaking at $1.618b in 2020.

Master Builders Australia’s national economics manager Matthew Pollock said a new decade high was expected to be reached at $8.8b nationally with Queensland among states to “see the strongest growth”.
