The estranged wife of renowned property developer John Darby has failed in a court bid to show her husband owns seven million-dollar properties in one of New Zealand’s most exclusive subdivisions.

Kristin Darby, who was married to Darby for more than 20 years, registered claims on the seven properties after the relationship ended.

The properties are part of the Wyuna Preserve subdivision about five minutes drive from Glenorchy at the head of spectacular Lake Wakatipu. The preserve of 182ha was carved out of the 10,000ha Wyuna Station. Only 34 parcels of land were available for sale, ranging in price from $1m to $3m. Most have sold.
