- Rising rents north of Auckland mean Paul Suhr is struggling to stay in the area he calls home.
Suhr was given 40 days to move out of his current rental and said he cannot find anywhere local he can afford.
He said he had paid $150 a week for a one bedroom studio in Kaukapakapa, about 50km north of Auckland, but he can’t find anything else in his price range.
“You can’t move to a cheaper area to live anymore because there isn’t one,” Suhr said.
