Upper north shore resident Jian Chen is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

With his Roseville duplex between a potential development site and a train line, he has found himself in an unexpected predicament  — desperate to sell his forever home to a developer who doesn’t want it.

It would bring an end to his suburban dream, but the alternative — being surrounded by 42 new three-storey townhouses — is worse.
