The upcoming second season of the reality show “Rich Listers” will not only focus on the rivalries of real estate agents but also highlight the social scene and parties to add drama and glamour. Alex Breingan, the managing director of Stripe Studios, the show’s producer, remains unapologetic about the show’s genre of reality TV, which faced criticism last year for its use of fictional storylines and fake deals… according to SPY.

Breingan assures that this season’s deals will be genuine, and he plans to intensify the drama and competitiveness by taking advantage of the market downturn. He points to successful shows like “Selling Sunset” and “Million Dollar Listing” as inspirations, emphasizing that they prioritize showcasing the agents and their dynamics rather than solely focusing on houses.

Recent filming for the show took place at the popular Bivacco hotspot in Viaduct Harbour, and the crew was spotted at Botswana Butchery with new agent Aman Gulia. Gulia, who is joining the show, has invited the cameras and cast to his upcoming birthday party at Auckland’s Sunset Room rooftop bar.

The broadcasting network for the second season of “Rich Listers” remains uncertain, although Bravo, which previously aired the show and showcased other productions by Stripe Studios, mentioned that they were unsure of its screening location. Breingan, while maintaining confidentiality, assures that the show will be seen in New Zealand. Production for the season is expected to conclude around October. The first season was sold to broadcasters in Europe and Canada, and Breingan is optimistic about cracking the US market following his recent meetings with major studios in Los Angeles.

According to Breingan, the success and admiration of achievements in the US television industry, in contrast to New Zealand, create a refreshing environment. He emphasizes that talent is the key factor for the success of shows like “Rich Listers” and highlights the significance of the cast.

The second season of the show will feature Cheryl Whiting in the role of matriarch, taking over from former deputy PM Paula Bennett. Holly Cassidy, a former Miss New Zealand, will also return, accompanied by her boyfriend and fellow agent Ross Tierney. Aman Gulia, known for his substantial property sales and prominence on billboards in the city, will be joined by estate agent Paul Neshausen, who deals with high-value properties in Auckland’s prestigious neighborhoods. Diego Traglia, a successful West Auckland agent who has consistently sold the most properties in Auckland for the past three years, will also make a comeback.
