A protégé of get-rich-quick property spruiker Rick Otton has been jailed for three-and-a-half years for taking out fraudulent loans against the ANZ Bank on behalf of low-income customers who could not afford them.
A real estate agent has been sentenced to three and a half years behind bars over a dodgy rent-to-buy scheme. Sheree Becker targeted vulnerable migrants, luring them into buying homes they could never afford.
Sheree Becker was sentenced on Tuesday with a minimum 15 months to be served before being eligible for parole after Victoria’s County Court found her guilty of seven counts of fraud against ANZ. Becker had signed up people on low incomes, including one on Centrelink benefits, to her vendor finance scheme.
