The owner of a construction company is considering liquidation due to financial difficulties, leaving three half-built houses waiting to be finished.
Rose Built Homes told clients it was struggling due to a slowing market and regional competition, but was committed to completing three remaining builds in Blenheim.
Blenheim woman Anastasia Brown said the timber frame of her first home at Boulevard Park on Taylor, on the southern edge of Blenheim, had been sitting in the rain for 20 weeks.
“We noticed nothing had happened for a long time, the roof hadn’t gone on … the skip contractor just dumped everything on the lawn since they weren’t being paid, the scaffolding came down,” Brown said.
