Few would glance up at the house above the majestic pohutukawas, but if they did, they would see the last of the grand old dames still in her original state.
But not for much longer. This property for sale right at the end of St Marys Bay Road already has a demolition consent, with the Barfoot & Thompson listing stating, “Bring the bulldozer”.
To view the house is like taking a step back in time. The gate is falling off the hinges; the fence palings have broken; vines are scrambling up the walls and into the roof space, and the house is almost bereft of paint.
