The search for missing mum Kylie Bazzo has ended in tragedy, with police confirming her body was found in the Mandurah Estuary around 7pm on Sunday.

The 52-year-old — the mother of West Coast Eagles player Rhett Bazzo — was one of four people caught up in a horror boat incident on Saturday night, when their vessel collided with a pylon.

It is understood the force of the crash knocked her and fellow passenger Deborah Burdon, 54, into the water.

Ms Burdon was recovered on the night but could not be saved.

Two men were also on the boat at the time of the crash. Ms Burdon’s husband, 47-year-old John Burdon, was taken to the Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries. The other man, 54, escaped without injury.

A police spokesperson said Ms Bazzo’s family had been notified and that an investigation into the cause of the boat crash was continuing.

Western Australian Police were called to the area near Pinjarra Road and Soldiers Cove Terrace in Mandurah, south of Perth, at about 10pm on Saturday.

Police spent that night and all day Sunday searching for Ms Bazzo.
