Police Launch Dive Squad Search for Missing Christchurch Real Estate Agent Yanfei Bao
Intensive Investigation in Halswell River and Greenpark Area
Christchurch police announced that their dive squad will conduct a search in Halswell River on Wednesday as part of the ongoing efforts to locate the missing real estate agent, Yanfei Bao. The 44-year-old agent disappeared last week while doorknocking in Wigram, approximately 17km away from Greenpark, where officers will also comb the nearby area. Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves, in a statement, expressed their concern over the case and emphasized that all possible lines of inquiry are being pursued to find Yanfei.
Arrest Made and Further Investigations Underway
Authorities have already made an arrest in connection with the case. A 52-year-old man has been charged with kidnapping Bao, and additional charges and arrests have not been ruled out. Investigating officers focused their attention on a property on Trevor St in Christchurch, close to the location where Bao was last seen. The police will continue to work on this lead.

The police expressed their gratitude for the public’s cooperation and assistance in providing valuable information about the case. They continue to seek sightings of a silver Mitsubishi sedan with registration DPH101. One of her cell phones was found nearly 7km away from her last known location, thanks to public assistance and the efforts of investigators.
