The search for 44-year-old Yanfei Bao, a missing Christchurch real estate agent, has entered its sixth day, with police meticulously examining numerous tips provided by the public.
Arrest Made in Connection with Kidnapping
A man accused of kidnapping Yanfei Bao appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Monday. The charges brought against him include unlawfully taking Bao without her consent, with the intention to confine her. The arrest took place at Christchurch Airport, where the suspect was attempting to flee the country.
Public Tips Flood In
As of Tuesday morning, the police have received over 120 pieces of information from the public. A significant portion of these tips is related to a silver Mitsubishi sedan with registration DPH101. Additionally, authorities have been investigating a ditch near Lake Ellesmere in connection with the case.
Focus on Hornby Property
On Monday, police directed their attention to a property in the suburb of Hornby, marking the third property searched in relation to Bao’s disappearance. The homeowners, who lived in the house for 37 years before relocating to Australia, expressed shock at the scrutiny their former residence is under. Yanfei Bao was acting as a buyer’s agent and was scheduled to show someone the property on the morning of her disappearance.

Yanfei Bao, a mother-of-one, recently joined Harcourts as a real estate agent and holds extensive sales experience. She was last seen on Vickerys Rd in Wigram around 10:30 am on Wednesday, leaving her car parked on Iroquois Pl.

Both the police and Bao’s family assert that her disappearance is highly unusual and express profound concerns for her safety. The case is being treated as a missing persons investigation, and a team of 40 officers is diligently working on the matter.
Cell Phone Found, But Bao Remains Missing
One of Bao’s cell phones was discovered nearly 7 km from the location where she was last seen, thanks to help from the public. However, she has not been located yet.
