PHOTO: 59 Hastings Pde, North Bondi sold for $7.55 million

THE highlight of Sydney’s auction market on Saturday was the sale of a 1920s shack for $7.55 million on North Bondi’s Ben Buckler Point.

The buyer, who is moving his family up from Melbourne, will knock down the old house and build a multimillion-dollar palace like the one next door to capture spectacular views of the beach.

The result for the three-bedroom home on a 389 sqm block at 159 Hastings Pde was $950,000 above the high end of the $6.1 million to $6.6 million price range that McGrath agent Peter Starr had been quoting.
