Resource consents for the massive Shelly Bay redevelopment in Wellington have been quashed in the Court of Appeal.

In a decision on Monday, the court said Wellington City Council had wrongly interpreted the law. As a result, its assessment of the factors such as the environmental effects of the hundreds of apartments and townhouses, was flawed.
