A fight between a man and his three sisters over the fate of their family home has landed in the High Court.
Joseph Ngui and his sisters Merlisa, Merlyna and Merlynda could not agree on whether the house, in Auckland’s Hillsborough, should be sold or subdivided.
Their parents had bought the property in 1989 when they all emigrated to New Zealand from Malaysia, according to court documents. The property was valued at $1.35 million.
The siblings’ mother, Regina Me Hoon, had left them each a share of the house when she died in 2015.
