Former Christchurch mayor Sir Bob Parker has joined forces with ex-bankrupt property developer Dave Henderson in a large Queenstown property deal that has already struck a hurdle.
Parker is the sole director of Henderson’s company, The Cardrona Cattle Company Ltd, which owns a $4.5 million block next to Queenstown’s landfill site in the Gibbston Valley.
But the company’s plan for a 1500-home housing development called Avalon has failed to get past the Queenstown Lakes District Council because of its landfill neighbour.
