PHOTO: BAYLEYS TAKAPUNA This Bayswater house, surrounded by lush greenery was once the very private home of Sir Peter Blake and his wife Lady Pippa. The current owners, who bought the house from the Blakes, are selling after nearly 20 years.
Sir Peter Blake and Lady Pippa fell in love with this waterfront property in Bayswater, Auckland in the 1990s.
And it’s easy to see the appeal – for starters there’s that broad sweep of lawn framed by palms leading down to a private beach and jetty, not so far from the house where Sir Peter grew up.
A lot of what we see here today is the work of the late yachtie who won the Whitbread Round-The-World Race in 1990 and became a national hero after securing successive America’s Cup victories for Team New Zealand.
