The luxurious Bellevue Hill residence, once owned by neurosurgeon Timothy Steel and his wife, Emma Steel, has recently been listed for auction in early April.
Purchased in 2010 for $6.53 million from Emmanuelle Alter and Tony Rubenstein, the expansive five-bedroom home spans 1018sq m. Acquired just two years into the Steels’ marriage, the property still bears both their names despite their subsequent divorce in 2019. While Timothy Steel now resides in a lavish $6000-a-week rental in Point Piper, details of the divorce settlement, revealed by Sunday Confidential last September, indicated Emma’s withdrawal from Sydney’s social scene to support their daughter, a talented showjumper.
Lewis, known for her assertive demeanor on reality TV, recently facilitated the $26.5 million sale of the neighboring property to Kim Seder, wife of SquareKnot founder Mike Seder. The home, purchased in 2021 for $15 million, was sold to Georgina and David Mattick, owners of the Taphouse Group, who previously resided opposite Cooper Park. Their former property, acquired for $4.2 million in 2015, was sold last month for nearly $11 million.

With Bellevue Hill’s median house price soaring to $10.37 million, reflecting a 25.3% increase over the past year according to PropTrack data, the matrimonial home of the Steels stands as a prized asset amid the area’s flourishing real estate market.
