Sophie Monk has put her enchanting Gold Coast mansion on the market, and it could be yours for a cool $1.9 million.
Constructed in the late 1900s, this remarkable residence boasts a renovated kitchen, an outdoor alfresco area with a swimming pool, and a spacious master bedroom featuring triple wardrobes, an ensuite, and access to a balcony. The riverfront property, spanning 4018sqm, comprises a total of five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and four parking spaces. It also includes multiple storage sheds, a boat ramp, and a jetty. Sophie originally acquired the property for $1.6 million in 2016 and subsequently rented it out for $1200 a week after relocating to the NSW Central Coast in 2020.
In 2020, Sophie purchased an acreage in Matcham for $2.25 million, covering 8000sqm, where she currently resides with her husband, Joshua Gross. Earlier this year, the Love Island host opened up about the reasons behind the breakup of the ’00s girl band Bardot, responding to accusations from a former bandmate. Bardot, consisting of Sophie Monk, Belinda Chapple, Tiffani Wood, Katie Underwood, and Sally Polihrona, emerged from the reality show Popstars and released two albums before disbanding in 2002.
Although initially described as a ‘mutual’ decision, persistent rumors suggested that Sophie Monk’s solo career was the primary factor in the split. In an interview with news.com.au, Sophie clarified that Bardot-related questions resurfaced every few years, expressing her willingness to address the issue. She revealed that she intended to leave the band when Katie Underwood departed but ultimately agreed to stay on for one more album.
“I had no idea they were going to approach me for a solo album. I finished and was looking for a job. For me, I felt like we had achieved enough, and I wanted out when Katie did,” she explained.
