Egan, a former pro surfer, and Yates, a Fox Sports presenter, have spent $3.5m on the tightly held Morris family home, which was sold for the first time in six decades.

The property, marketed as being “ripe for total refurbishment”, sits on a 1210sq m block of land, just a few rows back from the water.

“Create a luxury family estate or land bank for the future,” the marketing from Chris Burke & Co agent David Kennedy suggested. It settled this week, so there’s no signs of any plans yet.

The median profit was $450,000, which sat above the $390,000 Sydney-wide median profit, which came from the 91 per cent of profit takers.
