Lockyer’s latest purchase took place just before the commencement of the Ampol Origin series, as he invested in the NSW Tweed Valley region. While not venturing too far across state lines, Lockyer secured a property in Crystal Creek, approximately 8km south of the border and 30km from the coastal town of Casuarina. This marks his second purchase in Crystal Creek, following his initial investment in 2016 alongside his wife Loren.

The Lockyers have spent $2.6 million on the Crystal Creek Estate, a picturesque property spanning 4.4 hectares and featuring a working cafe and nursery. The property, which came with registered tenancy in place, has been recognized for its profitability as a popular destination to enjoy quality coffee and meals while overlooking Crystal Creek. The estate includes a four-bedroom homestead, horse stables, machinery sheds, and approximately 370 meters of Crystal Creek frontage with inviting swimming holes.

During their first purchase in Crystal Creek, the Lockyers acquired a four-hectare equestrian property equipped with a dressage arena, stables, and electrified paddocks. They had expressed their intention to utilize the property as a hobby farm for their children, who enjoy activities such as quad biking, motorcycling, and caring for farm animals.

Apart from his notable rugby league career, which included four grand final victories, a record-breaking six consecutive State of Origin series wins, and a World Cup triumph, Lockyer has also made a name for himself as a director at the Brisbane Broncos since 2013. Furthermore, he serves as a selector for the Maroons team and is involved in the property industry and other business investments. Additionally, Lockyer holds a directorship at One Key Workforce, a labor hire firm.
