A well-known Lotto winner originally from New Zealand has revealed the details of his remarkable success in winning the lottery five times, amassing a fortune in the process.
Carlo Massetti, now residing in Australia, accumulated millions by embarking on an extraordinary winning streak. His notable achievements include purchasing three winning tickets from the same Sydney store within a span of 10 days.
Massetti’s lottery triumphs commenced in 2012 when he won twice, prompting him to resign from his job as a funeral undertaker in Sydney. He shared that his winning strategy involves using a consistent formula when buying tickets.
Tips from Massetti on Winning the Lottery: Although he didn’t participate every week, when he did, Massetti followed a formula that entailed investing $5000 to $8000 in a systems entry ticket. This ticket type allows players to choose their own lottery numbers instead of opting for a Quick Pick.
Massetti disclosed that he typically used eight to nine numbers across the selected lines. He preferred smaller jackpot draws on Monday to Wednesday or Saturday, aiming for times when fewer people were participating, as opposed to the larger Powerball draws ranging from $40 million to $100 million.
In 2018, Massetti gained widespread attention by winning $2.5 million from two separate Lotto draws in a single week. Just 12 days later, he secured an additional $48,000 in a Powerball draw.

Despite accumulating substantial wealth and leading a luxurious lifestyle, Massetti asserted in 2021 that money couldn’t bring him happiness. He returned to New Zealand that year after ending a five-year relationship he described as “toxic.”
In 2018, Massetti faced assault allegations from his partner, Danielle Prebble, which were later dropped when she failed to appear in court. Despite the charges being dismissed, Massetti revealed the profound impact on his mental health, leading to a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder and severe depression.
Despite a turbulent journey, Massetti expressed a desire to move forward, focusing on his health and leaving the past behind. In 2021, Prebble returned to New Zealand to rekindle their relationship, highlighting their tumultuous history. However, another incident led to Massetti being charged with assault again, although the charges were subsequently dropped.
Reflecting on his life, Massetti stated that he has chosen to share his story after years of controversial media reports, aiming for a more peaceful existence and the opportunity to concentrate on his well-being.
