Erin Patterson, who is facing three murder charges and five counts of attempted murder in connection to an alleged incident involving poisonous mushrooms in July, has decided to sell her Melbourne residence following the legal charges.

The case, which garnered national attention, involves the deaths of Don and Gail Patterson, both 70, and Gail’s sister, Heather Wilkinson, 66, after consuming a meal laced with toxic mushrooms at Erin Patterson’s Leongatha home. Ms. Patterson is also accused of attempting to murder her former partner, Simon Patterson, four times between November 2021 and September 2022, including the day of the fatal lunch. Another attempted murder charge is related to Pastor Ian Wilkinson, 68, who survived after consuming the poisonous dish.

Despite consistently denying any wrongdoing, Erin Patterson has decided to sell her $1 million townhouse in Mount Waverley, a suburb in east Melbourne. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom property was acquired in 2019 but is not the location where the tragic incident occurred.

The townhouse, situated at 2/2 Lyons Street and spanning 249 square meters, will be auctioned on Saturday at 11 am, with an estimated selling price ranging from $960,000 to $1,050,000. Real estate agency Ray White is marketing the property to downsizers and families interested in proximity to quality state schools, emphasizing its convenient location within the Mount Waverley Secondary Catchment (STSA) and its appeal to those starting out, downsizing, or seeking a family-friendly investment.
