Taihape Area School faces a $10 million rebuild after serious problems with the relatively modern main building were uncovered.
The Rangitīkei school’s main building has problems with water leaks, heating and its sewerage system, so the Ministry of Education will rebuild the school.
The main building, which is about 10 years old, makes up most of the school, except for their multi-purpose gym and hall.
Principal Richard McMillan said it was a “substantial project” to fix ongoing problems with the water tightness of the building, sewerage, insulation, electricity and gas.
