Taranaki Rugby Football Union is backing the $55m repair job and facility upgrade as its preferred choice to reinstate Yarrow Stadium.
In its submission to the Taranaki Regional Council (TRC), dated April 5 and signed off by TRFU chief executive Jeremy Parkinson and chairman Lindsay Thomson, it supports in the first instance option two of the eight tabled regarding the future of the stadium.
Since mid-2018, the two main stands at Yarrow Stadium have been closed to the public due to earthquake risk.
The $55m option, which is the one TRC have also decided to back, would see the two stands repaired, the gym and changing rooms moved to a new building along with other updates to the facilities.
