The number of consents for new builds in Taupō has returned to pre-Global Financial Crisis numbers.
By the end of June, 156 consents for new residential buildings were approved by the Taupō District Council.
In 2017, 318 consents were approved. In 2016, 305 were approved – similar to the number of consents seen in 2002 and 2003 [308 and 328 respectively].
