- With Queenstown house prices breaking records, and a housing shortage in the Southern Lakes area, Te Anau is pitching itself as an affordable alternative.
A two hour drive from Queenstown, Te Anau – the gateway to Milford Sound – has seen demand for section sales increase significantly this year.
One of those experiencing the upsurge is the 240-lot lakeside The Delta, a three-stage subdivision where 217 of the 220 sections released so far have been snapped up.
The Delta’s developer, Adam Fairmaid, said he sold more sections in October than for all of last year.
