A beautiful restored Ponsonby villa sold at auction yesterday to Team New Zealand helmsman Peter Burling, for $3.375 million, $400,000 above the CV.
The property was sold to the yachtie, who sailed Emirates Team New Zealand to victory in the 2017 America’s Cup in Bermuda. Burling is part of the team preparing for the Cup defence in Auckland next March.
The four-bedroom home received strong bidding to sell at a price that reflected market interest in the suburb post lockdown.
