PHOTO: 90-day termination notice
A Rotorua woman who has been battling a 90-day termination notice of her tenancy for more than 200 days has lost her appeal to the High Court.
Olive Whakatihi moved into the Spinel Place property in January, 2018.
But in March this year, after a long-running dispute between Whakatihi and her neighbours, the property managers terminated both their tenancies, with 90 days’ notice.
The other tenants have since left the property but Whakatihi has been fighting the order since – first through the Tenancy Tribunal, then District Court and finally the High Court, where she argued that the District Court judge had made an error in law in upholding the tribunal decision that the notice was valid.
