Rose Banks and Yvette Kelly, the sisters who sold the Gatwick Hotel building to Channel Nine for $10 million for The Block’s 2018 series, are now seeking to lease the apartment they bought in October last year.
The sisters bought what was known in the series as apartment 2, renovated by contestants Hans Baumgartner and Courtney Brown. Ms Banks and Ms Kelly paid $2.77 million for the spread in the series finale and now want $2400 a week for it.
They told Domain at the time that they planned to use the property for their retirement. Ben Mitchell of Hocking Stuart, the leasing agent for the property, confirmed on Monday that the apartment had been vacant since it changed hands.
