The Block Australia

Scott Cam isn’t joking when he points out that this season of The Block Australia is its biggest ever.

“I know I say this every year,” he says. “But this actually is the biggest Block ever.”

This season, five couples must each transform an area in a rundown former backpackers accommodation into a top-end home.

The average floor space for each home is a whopping 460 square metres. This is double the size of the previous season’s average build.

“It’s a massive build,” says Cam, The Block’s host. “I think in the first three weeks, we as a production company worked out that maybe we’ve gone a bit too big. Maybe we’ve overstepped the mark. Maybe we’ve set the bar too high. Maybe it’s impossible.”
