Historic Blue Heelers Home for Sale: Iconic Williamstown Property Hits the Market!
A piece of Australian television history is up for grabs! The historic Williamstown home, famously used as the Mount Thomas Police Station in the long-running Australian drama Blue Heelers, is now on the market with a price guide of $2.85m-$3.10m.
This Federation-era property at 10 Thompson St, Williamstown, was a key filming location for the iconic Channel 7 series, which aired for an impressive 12 years from 1994 to 2006. Blue Heelers, one of Australia’s most successful dramas, followed the lives of police officers in the fictional country town of Mount Thomas, with a stellar cast that included John Wood, Lisa McCune, Martin Sacks, and William McInnes.
Since production wrapped, the former police station has been transformed into a spacious five-bedroom family home. The 800sqm property retains its period features, such as high pressed metal ceilings, American Oak floorboards, open fireplaces, and a romantic return verandah. It also boasts contemporary amenities, including an open-plan kitchen with dual ovens, a butler’s pantry, and light-filled living and dining areas.
The former police station from the hit TV show Blue Heelers is now a house.
Jellis Craig Williamstown’s Anthony Christakakis noted that the home’s Blue Heelers history has drawn strong interest, with many locals reminiscing about its role on screen. “People stopping by inspections have been reminiscing about the show,” Christakakis said. “Some remember it as the ‘old Blue Heelers house,’ while others recall it as Williamstown’s former police station before the current one was built.”
The property’s location in south Williamstown is another major drawcard for buyers, offering a short stroll to Nelson Place’s cafes and restaurants, Commonwealth Reserve, Williamstown Beach, and Williamstown Primary School. Beyond its TV legacy, the property’s size and flexibility make it a rare find, with large land parcels being uncommon in Williamstown. The freestanding studio/home office/gym and potential for a pool add to the home’s appeal.
A striking fireplace serves as the centrepiece of the living room.

With multiple Logie Awards to its name, Blue Heelers became one of Australia’s most iconic TV series, launching the careers of its leading stars.
The outdoor space has an intimate cottage feel.
“Most homes in this price bracket have smaller land sizes, often with only three or four bedrooms. This one offers space, future potential, and a prime position in one of Williamstown’s best streets,” Christakakis added. “Interest has been particularly strong from young families looking to upgrade, as well as buyers from Melbourne’s eastern suburbs and Bayside who are realizing the value Williamstown offers compared to other prestige markets.”
The idea of a Blue Heelers reboot has been raised, but Christakakis believes it would have to be done carefully. “Sometimes reboots can fall flat and take away from the nostalgia of the original,” he said. “But if it was done well and to a high standard, it could bring in a whole new audience while still appealing to long-time fans.” offers compared to other prestige markets.”
