The founder of Leaders Real Estate Robert Garlick has pleaded guilty to hitting a young man on a pedestrian crossing last year.
Garlick appeared in Wellington District Court on Thursday and admitted the charge of careless driving causing injury.
Police prosecutor Alice Handcock said Garlick had been driving on the Hutt Rd near Kaiwharawhara on April 18 about 8.10am. He approached a pedestrian crossing going about 50 to 60kmh. The cars in the lane beside him slowed for a man on the crossing.
Garlick failed to see him and hit him.
