The Prize, which is named to honor one of the world’s greatest humorists was awarded to Adam Sandler at a gala performance featuring some of the biggest names in comedy at the Kennedy Center on March 19, 2023.

Some of his biggest box office hits include Big Daddy, Grown Ups, and Click. Sandler’s transition from SNL cast member to movie star was seamless.
He signed a lucrative film contract with Sony Pictures following the success of Big Daddy and made $60 million for his role in Anger Management. As his box office power began to decline, Sandler signed an impressive $250 million contract with Netflix.
After producing 4 incredibly successful movies for Netflix, his contract was renewed for a further $250 million. Netflix renewed his contract again earlier this year for $275 million. Netflix paid Sandler $775 million total to produce and star in 12 movies for the streaming service. Sandler has spent his millions on luxurious mansions, beachfront properties, expensive cars, and flashy jewelry. Sandler paid $12 million for his stunning Pacific Palisades mansion, which was previously owned by Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.
Sandler and his wife attended a New Year’s Eve party hosted by Russell and Hawn in 2004, and Sandler’s wife was so impressed that she wanted to buy the house. A few years later, Sandler purchased the mansion next door.
Adam Sandler’s real estate portfolio is worth $40 million. Following the success of Grown Ups, Sandler bought his co-stars limited edition Maseratis. Kevin James, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock, and David Spade all received sports cars worth $800,000.
