New Zealand Members of Parliament (MPs) collectively own hundreds of houses and properties, new data showing MPs’ financial interests has revealed.

MPs have been required to make annual returns of their financial returns and other specified interests since 2005 in a list which contains details about property, overseas costs and other interests.

The latest data shows Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern owns one property in her Mt Albert electorate. Meanwhile National leader Simon Bridges owns a home in Tauranga, along with two apartments and a commercial property.
