Property, particularly commercial property, is a road to riches for many of New Zealand’s wealthiest.
According to this year’s National Business Review rich list, out this week, many of those worth at least $50 million got their start in the property game, and still more have entered after making their money through other businesses.
A long-standing stalwart of the list is Sir Robert Jones, whose estimated wealth has reportedly jumped $30m to $650m in the last year.
Jones, who has property in Wellington, Auckland and Sydney, has recently opened an office in Glasgow.
