A real estate agent has sold five houses in a single weekend, after some chaotic open homes amid a shortage of houses for sale in Marlborough.
Harcourts real estate agent Ben McLennan closed five sales last weekend in Blenheim, a big jump from his usual one or two sales per week, he said.
That included a property priced for first home buyers, two houses in new developments, a family-sized home priced over $500,000 and a new build priced over $600,000.
The lack of listings meant more prospective buyers were interested in each house, and making offers faster than usual, McLennan said.
