A Sydney real estate agent’s ‘team’ advertisement has stirred controversy as it conspicuously omits mention of a female staff member.
Shared on social media, the image features McGrath Double Bay agent James Ledgerwood and his sales associate Ben Fraser, both prominently named with contact details.
The photo, titled ‘The James Ledgerwood Team,’ includes executive assistant Alina Setter, who is notably excluded from the ad copy.
After the Sydney property agent’s advert was shared on social media many people pointed out the female staff member is not named
The post garnered over 114,000 views, with many expressing disapproval that Ms. Setter was left unnamed while Mr. Ledgerwood was mentioned three times.
Some critics labeled the ad as ‘sexist’ and questioned if Ms. Setter was merely a ‘token’ female for visual appeal.
Mr Ledgerwood works in Sydney’s exclusive eastern suburbs with reviews online of him appearing to be overwhelmingly glowing
Commenters also speculated on the possibility that Ms. Setter might not have a real estate license, restricting her from discussing property details. Mr. Ledgerwood, known for his success in Sydney’s exclusive eastern suburbs, has yet to respond to the controversy.
