On Thursday, law enforcement personnel combed through farmland on the outskirts of Christchurch in their ongoing efforts to locate Yanfei Bao, a missing real estate agent. The investigation shifted to a homicide case shortly after the 44-year-old’s disappearance in July.
Authorities are expanding their search efforts for missing real estate agent
Last month, Tingjun Cao made an appearance in Christchurch District Court, facing charges of kidnapping and murdering Bao. On Friday, officers conducted on-foot searches along both sides of Hudsons Rd in Greenpark, which has remained a significant focal point throughout the investigation. Additionally, they scoured Jarvis Road in Motukarara and the banks of Te Waihora/Lake Ellesmere.
A police spokesperson indicated that these new search operations were anticipated to occupy most of Friday and potentially extend into Saturday morning. Law enforcement remains steadfast in their commitment to locating Bao, who was last seen three months ago.
