The Timeshare Taupo Ika Nui Resort, Taupō – was sold to Prime Hotel Group with takeover 10 December, 2021.

Owners of the Timeshare were told to expect payment for their share from mid February, 2022.

“Update”

Over the past 7 – 10 days, our Accountant has tried to get an update from the IRD regarding the 2022 / 23 Income Tax refund for Taupo Ika Nui Ltd.

This is the reply they received last Thursday;

Hi Melanie,
 
Thank you for your email of 28th June 2022.
 
The current processing timeframes for returns is 10 weeks, therefore still within processing standards.

Taupo Ika Nui Ltd Board, Accountant, Lawyers and I are very disappointed that this is taking so long. But unfortunately, this is out of our control.
Our Accountant said, “this may not take 10 weeks, but it possibly could”.
So, once again, we ask for your patience and understanding while we work through this final stage.

I discussed the possibility of part payments with our lawyers; unfortunately, with everything in Taupo Ika Nui Ltd, rather than Taupo Ika Nui Body Corporate, all legal and tax matters must be completed before shareholders (Owners) receive payouts.

I have also been in contact with Ika Nui Taupo Hotel (old Taupo Ika Nui Timeshare), and that owners are calling them looking for information. Unfortunately, a few owners don’t know how to be nice on the phone; this is upsetting their staff, which is understandable. Ika Nui Taupo Hotel has nothing to do with Taupo Ika Nui Ltd; all they have is our old telephone number.
