A cute wee “workingman’s cottage” in the Auckland CBD that has stood the onslaught of neighbouring tower blocks is back on the market.
The house, in Nicholas Street, created a lot of interest on Stuff when it went to auction four years ago, and now the couple that bought it, Alex Rogers and Nicole Roughan, have their eye on another property beside a lake. After testing the market briefly 18 months ago, they have now decided it is time to move on.
The family was living in Singapore at the time they bought the house, and Rogers says he read the original story while back in New Zealand and liked the look of the 1890s cottage. “I could see there was heaps of interest, so went along to the auction, just to see what would happen.
