Tiny Melbourne apartments may need to be a tiny bit bigger after VCAT ruling

Victorians living in small apartments may soon have more space to cook meals and entertain their guests, after an apartment standard was tested for the first time.

The area directly in front of a galley kitchen cannot be counted as living space, the planning tribunal has ruled, as part of a legal stoush over the development of a six-storey apartment block in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
