A controversial Auckland developer has been hauled back before the courts over houses with toilets emptying straight into a stream.
Augustine Lau is facing a raft of charges relating to several Auckland properties he has helped develop.
Neighbours have accused Lau of creating “slumsvilles” in desirable city suburbs by jamming relocatable houses onto sites and ignoring planning laws. In one case, a judge found he had undertaken significant earthworks at two waterfront properties at Waiwera, subdivided a Mt Albert property, converted a garage into a ‘house’ and relocated houses in Paremoremo – all without seeking consent.
