Police apprehended a teenage boy accused of trespassing on the Waiheke Island property owned by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon during the early hours of New Year’s Day.
A police spokesperson reported responding to an incident at an Ōnetangi property and discovering the teen at the address shortly after midnight.
The young intruder sustained a minor hand injury, receiving initial medical assistance from both police and St John Ambulance. The spokesperson confirmed the arrest was made on the grounds of unlawfully being present at the residence.

According to information obtained by The New Zealand Herald, the location in question is Luxon’s holiday home on Ōnetangi Beach. Property records reveal that Prime Minister Luxon, along with his wife Amanda Luxon and Graham Luxon, is the registered owner of the property. Auckland Council has assessed the property’s value at $6.7 million.
