Sydney’s most renowned buyers agent, Simon Cohen, known for securing homes for the elite, has put his own luxurious apartment on the market this spring.
He’s known for snapping up homes for the rich and famous, but now Sydney’s best-known buyer’s agent has listed his own lavish apartment for an early spring sale.
Cohen, founder of Cohen Handler, purchased the three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence in the prestigious Ikon building on Macleay St, Potts Point, for $5.125 million in 2021. The apartment boasts double parking and stunning views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
“He’s gone all out, completely gutting the apartment—new electrics, ceilings, cornices—everything is brand new,” says Jason Boon, the Richardson & Wrench Elizabeth Bay agent, who has listed the property with a guide price of $8.5 million to $9 million in an expressions of interest campaign.
Cohen, who also appears on Amazon’s Luxe Listings Sydney, invested $1.85 million in the renovation.
Shortly after acquiring the 180sqm apartment, which spans 300sqm including the courtyard, Cohen enlisted Interior Architecture Practice Studiojos and Jack Freeman, founder of Freeman Gallery, to spearhead the transformation.
Freeman shared with realestate.com.au in February, “We meticulously designed every element to reflect Simon’s unique sense of style and fashion. This involved curating custom furniture, artwork, bedding, and even down to the glassware and cutlery.”
